Last night I took a Phenergan Tablet( to help sleep). Woke up at 2.30 with racing heart. Stay awake for about 2 hours, then back to sleep for another hour. This morning my chest feels slightly sore. Telephone consultation with Cardiologist on Monday 9/5/22. What could this be?. Have a good safe day x

It is one of the known possible side effects of Phenergan, I would definitely ask if it is ok for you to take it as it is not advised for all patients with heart issues.

Thanks for your reply. My GP prescribed one month for me and the others I have bought from pharmacist who dispenses my medication( in Dossett Box) every week as I take such a lot. I will give them up. Take care

If these where prescribed then you should discuss this with your GP, it may not be these that are causing it, or if it is these, it needs to be noted on your records.

Dear Bishop1

As with your other good answers, this is a powerful drug to have mixing with your heart meds, did your Dr prescribed it?

I am really surprised that the side effects were not worse, but you have to remember that I am not medically trained,

Have you got a GTN spray? That may help with the tightness, if it continues, personally I would phone 111 and get it checked out.

You know the feelings are not right, it needs sorting.

Take care

Thanks for your reply. How are you getting on. I don't have GTN spray. My GP prescribed them for one month and the others I bought from the Pharmacist who supplies all my medication in Dossett Boxes I will give them up. Take care x x

Thanks for reply. My GP prescribed one month for me and the others I buy from the pharmacist. Asked another GO if it was safe when I had my sight problems in January. Said I should try and wean myself off them.I will give them and see how I get on. I feel fine now. Take care x x

For heavens sake don’t take Phenergan. Look it up, there’s a link with such drugs and dementia, which heart disease already increases the risk of.
