My husband has cardiomyopathy with a fib, has ICD and now his EP cardiologist suggesting AV node ablation. But we just found out about stem cell therapy for Cardiomyopathy. Has any one heard about that, has any experience on this subject ?

Stem Cell Therapy for Cardiomyopathy

Hello,
Here in the UK treatment is only offered at Barts Hospital in London in a independent clinic.

Prof Anthony Mathur is the Cardiologist who is the lead of this treatment centre. He and his team have been researching the use of stem cells in heart disease for a while.
A friend of mine has had stem cell therapy for MS. He hasn’t noticed any benefits and it’s nearly three years since it was done.
Oh, that is very sad.Hope he has a mild case that is not progressing. Thank you for the information, I guess every kind of treatment is not 100%. When they inserted pacemaker for my husband it was supposed to help and now the explanation is that it cannot function correctly, because of A fib . And it looks like stem cell therapy for heart in US is in clinical trials only .
I suspect he had unrealistic expectations. With MS it’s very difficult to predict progression. As far as I can tell there’s been no discernible deterioration in his health but I think he was secretly hoping for an improvement in his condition and that was never going to happen.
