I first started having tachycardia when I caught C last January. I went several months before taking medication for it (first Bisoprolol that was changed to Nebivolol then I had Ivabradine added in). Even with that my resting heart rate is still normally in the 70s and 80s most of the time (during C it was always above 100) but I have noticed this has started creeping up to be over 100 again and I am getting increasingly symptomatic again. Is this that possibly my body is now tolerating the medication and I need a dosage increase? Before anyone says it I will be asking my cardiologist this too as I have a follow up with him to discuss MRI results from November next week.

High HR readings
Hi there. I've had exactly the same thing happen to me after covid. My resting heart rate was constantly higher than it had been before. I went 3 weeks of feeling so anxious and then had an SVT - my heart went to 210BPM for an hour. Went to hospital and was kept in as troponin levels were raised (these came down quickly). I've been on 1.25mg of Bisoprolol ever since which seems to keep my heart rate down in the 70s when resting but it can sometimes creep up. Like today for instance its been higher all day and went to 135BPM just walking into the kitchen. When you say you feel symptomatic, what symptoms do you mean? I feel like I make my heart rate worse as I am constantly checking it and if it's slightly high I get really anxious and it makes it worse. Do you take magnesium? I take a good quality magnesium glycinate supplement and this really helps calm my heart. I've had all heart tests done, 2 week holter, echo, EKGs and everything is fine. Except the high heart rate. I am 47 and perimenopausal so I think this could be contributing to the situation as I notice it's worse during the second half of my cycle. Plus the awful debilitating anxiety that I now seem to be having everyday. I refuse to believe that I will have to live with this for the rest of my life! What was your resting heart rate before C? I don't really know what mine was as I wasn't obsessed with it like I am now. Somewhere mid 70s I think. Sorry I can't answer your question about dosage increase, I've only been on beta blockers for 3 months. Hopefully someone will be able to help further xx
