The side effects can be nasty. I was on it for 3 months following an ablation. They were unable to get me into sinus rhythm straight away, and it worked however after bad headaches, daily, I came off it. I work as a gardener and was in the sun through summer months did not have reaction to the sun but used plenty of sunblock and kept covered as much as possible

Amiodarone damaged my thyroid function, I took it pre and post two ablations. I'll now have to take drugs for the rest of my life to rectify that.

I was put on amioderone after a heart attack, but it affected my breathing when I was walking about & was taken off it & put on flecainide another anti-arrythmic to keep my heart beating correctly and out of atrial fibrillation which I was left with after the heart attack or maybe atrial fibrillation caused the heart attack. I didn't feel irregular beats before but certainly did afterwards.

Strange isn't it.

I take Flecainide as do a lot of other members on this forum. To me it is a wonder drug and the only one that really works.
