Hi just found out that a heart attack i had 18 months ago was a scad ,is there any one else in here that is a scad survivor ,feeling very shocked and worried .......have daily pains in chest and jaw which apparently I will always have now ......thanks

SCAD can also be associated with other causes of Myocardial infarction non obstructive coronary arteries MINOCA, microvascular dysfunction and vasospastic angina.

Has your Cardiologist considered these conditions as a cause of your ongoing symptoms?

There are several specialist centres in the UK, one in Leicester and another at Charing Cross in London who keep a registry of patients who have experienced a SCAD.

I too had to wait for a full diagnosis of SCAD - 20 months!

Yes my heart attack last week was caused by a scad. I had a stent fitted and now on a whole set of meds. All very difficult to get your head around. I'm waiting for a CT scan to check for a possible cause - FMD - which is a condition I think that can weaken the artery walls. I guess now they've made a diagnosis they can do some further investigations for you. I can imagine how worried you are but if you're 18 months without a reoccurrence that's a good thing. Really hope you get some answers x
