Looks like edoxaban is also an anticoagulant. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edoxaban

I have been on Edoxaban for AF for 3 years after 10 years on Warfarin. The latter never settled down and I had hospital blood tests every 2-3 weeks. At first I preferred not to change because I would not have the security of seeing regular results in the Yellow Book. But I finally accepted the advice of cardiology and haematology and am pleased that I did. No worries about what not to eat. No blood tests other than a 6 month kidney check through the GP. I trusted the experts who said Edoxaban works in a different way to Warfarin and has been well tested. I have had no problems at all just an easier life. But changing to it was a big psychological step. Best wishes

Hubby took it from June 2018 following a stroke until last November when he was changed onto Apixaban following a small heart attack.No issues with it at all.

Hi I have been on Edoxaban/Apixaban…same drug..generic name… as an anti coagulant for 6 months for my AF. Took a couple of weeks to settle but no problems now. Bruise more easily, of course, but carry your card and inform people before invasive treatments. I am sure all will be OK. Good Luck ! It’s better than having a stroke !

My apologies to all ! Senile moment ! Edoxaban is not the same as Apixaban !,I meant to say Lixiana is the same,but I guess most of you know that,… sorry

I don’t think they are the same or one is a generic version. At the hospital I was offered a choice of either Edoxaban OR Apixaban. Both would have been ok for me. There were 2 other new anticoagulants at the time which were not appropriate for me. Glad to hear they are gradually reaching more people.

I did reply a couple of days ago as I was wrong ! Look in the news feed ! I quote. Senile moment😂

I started on Apixaban but was changed to Edoxaban by the GP (it's cheaper). No noticeable side effects. Works the same way as an anticoagulant and just one a day instead of 2.

I'll just add to the me too comments. Went on to edoxaban in 2019 back in those long distant days before the plague hit us. No problems with it at all. Everytime I go for some sort of procedure I tell them, and I either get told OK no problem, or could you stop taking it for 2 days beforehand, or something similar to that

I have been on Edoxaban for 3 years after being on Warfarin. I have no worries, I have a check up every 6 months. I have had dental treatment and numerous blood tests and an angiogram with no bleeding problems.

Another one here on Edoxaban since december 2019 when I had a stroke. No issues and have had dental work, blood tests, angiogram, etc. since then. I always inform that I am on an anti coagulant where necessary. No issues whatever.

Dear AliDerees

Hello to you, I’m not sure if your getting these messages as of posting you have not replied to any.

I post this purely as reference for anyone if it helps.

After a triple bypass I went into Arterial Fibulation { common } and was put on Apixaban at the hospital, when they ran out I was put on Edoxaban , by my doctor , who just said that they were the same but cheaper.

I am now out of AF and have stopped the Edoxaban, and was lucky because I had no side effects, { feel the same off then as on them }

Hope it helps

I was on warfarin 10 yrs loved it , I have a Coaguchek for sale now, , now on EDOXOBAN , I was on APIXABAN I had dreadful Gout ( inflammatory Arthritis ) Health Unlocked was a huge help as my coag nurses did not believe me . But the forum saw many responses , I am told EDOXOBAN is the latest anti coagulation treatment . So relax and enjoy, no blood tests , no hospital checks .
