Hi, I see you are new and have posted twice so you are obviously very worried. I'm sorry no one has replied yet, that's unusual but I can assure you someone will be along soon. Obviously just not the right people have been online yet. Afraid I can't help you. I have a friend whose husband has just been diagnosed with AF so I'm learning along with her but I have no idea about ablation or pericarditis. Have you tried phoning the BHF nurses? They are very helpful. They now operate 9:00 - 5:00 M-F, and 10:00 - 4:00 weekends and bank holidays. Their number is 0300 330 3311.
Hi, I've just signed up here. You've probably managed to get advice from someone in the medical profession long before now. I went for 2nd ablation in December and started with pericarditis within hours of the procedure. I was told it was due to irritation by the catheter. If I attempted to lean back on pillows or lie down it was excruciating and I couldn't draw breath in. I was given ibuprofen which helped to alleviate the pain until the irritation cleared up over the following week.It really isn't a pleasant experience and I empathise with you and hope you got sorted.
