I would not try anything like this without consulting your cardio team or at least a pharmacist, especially if you are on any other meds.

Best to be safe, so his doc knows he is taking it. Some of these over the counter remedies can react with other drugs if they are prescribed in the future.Best wishes to you and your son. I hope all goes well.

Thank you I'm glad you told me to check remedies Definitely a good idea as I've already found some things I thought were safe have a few complications with blood pressure so wouldn't be suitable much appreciated 😀

Hi, my husband takes Ubiquinol, which is a form of Q10. He doesn’t have heart inflammation so his experience may not apply to your son and his condition. Both his GP and cardiologist are aware and just said to keep an eye on his BP etc as it settled down and as long as he remained stable then they were ok with it. So, as others have said, check first then if he takes it, just monitor to see how things go.

Best wishes.

Hello there....I was diagnosed with severe Left Ventricular Systolic dysfunction last April with an Ejection Fracture of 28. I'm on Nebivolol, Spironolactone and Perindopril. My Cardiac Rehabilitation Nurse suggested Co Enzyme Q10 and my Cardiologist agreed it could help further, I've had no problem with taking it....and my last Echocardiogram started my my LVSD had improved to moderately severe and my EF had risen to between 35 to 40.Take advice from your team and pharmacist before taking any new supplements...Good luck.

Many people take Q10 but with any supplement, check with yoru GP first. I wanted to start on magnesium but I asked my doctor who checked and said it was fine.

Thank you I'm hoping to find some things that may help him to keep his heart healthy after his operation so hopefully it might be a lot better as we have not given any advice about nutrition or supplements and asked many times in the past , fingers crossed it will all go well 🙂
