What can trigger my pacemaker

Earlier this evening I realised I had a missed call from my HF nurse. My phone was in the other room and I had fallen asleep so I missed it.

The HF Nurse left a message to say that my pacemaker had triggered an alert a couple of days ago and they were ringing to make sure I was OK.

I have no idea what triggered it and although I have had a busy week, it has mainly involved eating and relaxing with friends.

She is going to call me back on Monday so it obviously wasn't life threatening but now I am worried sick as to what it could be.

Any ideas ? The weekend is going to seem very long and drawn out waiting for Monday to come!

Goodness ,try not to get so anxious , the HF nurses are meant to call the patients regularly , nothing sinister….best thing , go out for a calming walk. Then another dose.

Not quite the same [I haven’t got a pacemaker) but since having my stents fitted in October I have had 4 calls from my cardiac nurse and one face to face. I usually react the same when I get a letter or message from my GP but usually it is nothing too worrying.

If you feel okay in yourself I am sure it’s fine, plan to do something to take your mind of it over the weekend.

Thank you Heather. I will try not to worry too much and as you say its probably nothing otherwise I'm sure she would have called back.
