Hi all, happy new year all ….just a question someone might shine some light on…
I have been taking Adizam for 3 weeks ready for a scan at the end of January, my blood pressure was good and my palpitations have all but stopped since I started on the Adizam, I had several fainting episodes and Monday the doctor sent me to the hospital for an ecg just to make sure everything was ok , which it was but my blood pressure was 170/110 and after a bit they said it was probably white coat syndrome
Over the last few days I’ve taken it at home and it’s 152/93 heart rate 78 or 149/92 heart rate 75 and that’s up from 120/70 a few days ago and I can’t work out why ?
I don’t drink more than 2 coffees a day , no alcohol, gave away all the Christmas treats and am loosing weight, I’ll be honest I’m not walk as much but not sitting all day ……any ideas please or advise on how to bring it back down

Hi.My bp always goes through the roof when taken in the hospital or my gps.
When you do yours at home, do you use the first reading? My GP told me to disregard the first reading, wait a couple of minutes then take your bp again, then record this reading. It's also good to sit relaxed and quiet for a few minutes before doing your bp and not after you have just eaten.
I know thread is from 12 months ago but this my experience, in 2011 at 51yrs of age I was told by our work's nurse that my BP was quite high so she sent me straight to see my GP, it was high with gp as well so I started on meds to lower it. After 8 yrs of various side affects on about 5 different tablets I decided to buy my own BP monitor, I got very different readings to what they were getting so I told the doctor who then put my on a 24hr monitor to find out what's going on, the results came back and he said my BP was fine so come off all meds, I had never heard of white coat syndrome but that's what I had, been for my annual check recently and was prepared with a weeks readings which averaged 135/82 which is fine, I took my monitor to the GPs and within 20mins it had gone from 132/82 to 180/97 on both monitors.I just wonder how many other people out there without having their own monitor get mis diagnostics and are put on meds for no reason.
