Hi Kinsa -

Yes I do, and have all my life. I think it's quite normal for many of us. I'm nearly 59 now. I have ectopic and supraventricular beats off and on 24/7 and probably atria fibrillation too, but it is not nearly like it was in the past, pre ablation when I used to have it quite badly for 10 hours at a time or all night.

I was diagnosed 30yrs ago via a monitor I had to wear for a week. The irregular beats (then mainly atrial fibrillation) were (and are) very strong so it was quite difficult to live with, as seems like bombs going off in my chest, followed by irregular stutters all the time, whilst seemingly stopping for periods with no pulse! Have you had a monitor check - I am sorry if you have and are way down the line with Cardiology.

My recent yearly echo (as I have leaky aortic valve too) follow up phone call with cardiologist suggested I purchase a product called Alivecor which is about £100 as the 48hr monitor last year didn't show much other than the ectopic beats and some tachycardia and then when I took it off the rest of that week my heart was all over the place - typical apparently. I have a blood pressure monitor that also shows "irregular heartbeat"(Quardio) but this only picks it up when I am wearing it for the very short blood pressure test. It often happens during the test and I showed the technician at the echo. He told the cardiologist and this is the advice they gave ie get the more specific Alivecor product as it shows the actual type of beat going on. You have to catch it quickly however, and mine generally only goes on for no longer than a minute... but sometimes 30 mins off and on so that would be helpful. Or during the night .. and I'm not going turn the light on, turn my phone on, get the pads you have to put your fingers on and all that to test it... too busy trying to get back to sleep! So it's not ideal. I've got a lot going on right now as well, with quite complex health stuff but I might get it in the future. It's not cheap all this being ill lark!

Hope that helps, and best thing to do always, as you know, is to discuss with your GP and Cardiologist - but this site is great for sharing and feeling less alone with your health issues.

Keep safe and hope you have a good Xmas.

D
