Hello all, My husband had a pacemaker fitted in September, he says that sometimes it feels uncomfortable and when he lies on the left it feels like it is being scrunched up, like it still moves a bit, also he seems to be more tired than before he had it fitted. Is this normal as he hasn't had it long so need to get used to it?

Is there a problem with my hubbies pacemaker
I didn't feel better until 2 weeks after l had mine implanted. It is best to lie on your right side. I am not aware of mine most of the time. If l lie on my left side though it can dig in a bit.Better to be slightly partly on your back when on your left side; not too scrunched up.
It's quite uncomfortable having a foreign body implanted under the skin, and I have to say it took me several months to get used to mine. I've had mine for over 2 years now, and barely notice it's there, but it does itch from time to time.
Yes mine moves quite a bit and particularly if I lie on my side, though for me the right side is worse. It seems to tilt and stick out sometimes and was pretty painful for quite a long time but the cardiologist says not to worry about it. It was fitted two years ago and although it is still occasionally uncomfortable, it has improved a great deal in that time. I was no better health wise after my original pacemaker was fitted in 2017 so after two years I needed to have the biventricular one fitted. This has made a huge difference to my fatigue and breathlessness levels and I am now much better. I hope your husband improves too as time goes on.
