Thanks, what about missed pulse beats, and any idea how long can stable angina stay stable before it moves to unstable.
Thankyou.
Hi Radars, and welcome.Lots of people (including me) suffer from missed heart beats. As "thatwasunexpected" says, these ectopics in general are not dangerous, angina is caused by insufficient blood supply in the coronary arteries which feed the heart muscle. It is often caused by fatty build up which partially blocks the coronary artery or arteries. I would expect that you would have tests to determine if the partial blockage needs any sort of intervention, or it can be kept under control via medication (e.g. with nitrate medication and adjustment of dosage of statins).
A "missed" or "skipped" heartbeat felt on the wrist or neck pulse is not necessarily missed. My skipped beats are normal beats but the ventricles can beat when empty causing no pulse. This happens when the Atrials are in chaotic tachycardia.
Also when this happens I get a sharp pain with every empty ventricle beat.
Thankyou, I didn't know that, I have only recently joined and I have found things out to make me feel a bit better thought I was on my way out.
I should have added that normally the ventricles fill to about 60% for a normal ejection pulse. With AFib the Atrials can fill the ventricles much higher and this causes the heart to give a more forceful pulse to empty it.
This will feel like a thud or thuds in the chest.
