π π
Nope not me, much to early.
Bah humbug
Maybe to early for you not for others. Who decided when the time is right?
I said it was to early for me, I don't care if others want to do it weeks before, up to them.
I appreciate that I just wanted to point out not everyone feels the same, I think it is very much a personal thing, life is different for everyone and whatever makes a person happy is just fine. It is a proven fact that Christmas decorations makes people happier which can only be a good thing.
No need to point it out, the question was " Who's with me" and I said "not me". I wasn't expecting to be chastised! Let's leave it there, Happy Christmas
Don't know why you are making a lovely Christmas thread into an argument - maybe you should put some decorations up. Have a lovely day.
Everyone is different in how they do Christmas and I really don't understand why anyone takes issue with your approach. When does the season begin for you?
At my house it begins on the First Sunday of Advent and goes through to the Epiphany (aka Twelfth Night, 6 January) - every year on the morning of the 7th I'm taking it all down, sad to see it go but hopeful for the next Christmas season
My neighbours are mostly the same but we do have a few who don't wreath the house door until Christmas Week and we have one who puts the wreath on Christmas Eve and takes it down first thing Boxing Day morning.
Everyone is different - and long may it be so!
Thanks, the backlash i received is very odd ! Christmas week is when I put things up and it all goes back in the attic about a week after, that's how it's always been done in my family.
I hope you have a good time π
My birthday is beginning of Dec. after that I start thinking Christmas. This year all our clubs are booking early for Christmas, we have been to a Tinsel and Turkey holiday. If you like Christmas make it last.
Yeahhhhhhhhh itβs beginning to look a lot like Xmas π π₯°
Where is your pic?
Beautiful. I'm doing mine on the 1st of Dec.
No decorations, no thinking of cards,, no present buying, etc. till the 5th here!
Well it if my birthday πππππΎ on the 4th (I share it with Brian Wilson of the each Boys)!
πββοΈ Me, I know, itβs a weird one bit girlie π
So sweet magicfairy! Bit of a purple girl myself! Happy Christmas x
I've already added this to another thread. I have 3 light options so it looks different whichever lights I choose.
Finally (honestly) My lit ginger bread house.
Oh my god ive liked all your pics. Looks stunning. Can i come to you for christmas π€£π€£π€£π€£ I'll bring food.Honestly i love the gingerbread house. Did you make it?
I wish I could make a gingerbread house, sadly it is not edible so at least will last!!
Looks good enough to eat. I've seen the kits. I bought one last year from Morrisons i think. Problem was it wouldn't stand when i stuck the side panels up with icing. Maybe it's because i ate most of it while making it so there wasn't much left to use. Haha
We don't have a Christmas tree, we have six furry vandals! I have been making my Christmas cards though.
That's cute. Did you do the beautiful writing too or is it a stick one one?
Well anything that lifts the spirits is good for us so enjoy a happy Christmas πΎππ·π₯
Don't do trees, In fact we don't do Christmas full stop
In Malaysia they do Christmas in a big way. For scale, the palm trees and people are real.
Hi, I put my tree up yesterday, lights on it but so far no decorations, Iβm doing a bit each day, find I get so breathless, donβt allow myself to go to bed until Iβve written ten cards. Rather shot myself in the foot, rushed to buy cards, didnβt see one box took big stampsπ
OMG I'd almost forgotten cards; a job I HATE. Haven't even made the CHristmas cakes yet. I normally make two; one for son and one for us but no rush as son won't be here.
It is best to take your time. I live alone and have been instructed not to do any heavy lifting so had to rely on family to bring my tree from the outhouse with all the decorations. I also had to have the furniture moved around to fit the tree in the window.
It'll be the same when it is time to bring everything down but I'll worry about that in a few months time.
Take it easy it's a marathon not a sprint.
π
We do Christmas beginning the First Sunday of Advent. I'd post a snap of our tree but like VelvetSky and for the same reason, decorations are going on a few each day.
I will post a snap of our door wreath. It's MeMade after my dear husband misplaced the boxes of Christmas (meaning he shoved it all to the back of the shed and can't find the oomph to dig it outπΏ).
Luckily (for him, grrrr) I keep a secret crafty stash bag where he can't find it so I managed to sling together something for the door.
I love all the crafty bits people are posting its so creative.
I canβt be arsed with it this year , due to financial issues Iβve had to cut down a lot from what I normally buy , which is fine really as I spent too much . Never put my tree up last year due to my husband working from home and hos computer n stuff is sittin where the tree goes ,, heβs still working from home , so again no tree . But anyway my tree is black and I have a massive purple peacock for the top . So bah humbug , Iβd also like to add . NEVER get married on Christmas Eve !!! Itβs the absolute worst time . We are married 20 years this Christmas Eve .
Something of the same space issue at my house so the little tree I managed to find in the shed is on the mantel this year. We have bigger and smaller ones (yes, I am a serial Christmas tree collector) but the one on the mantel is the only one I could find.
I love the sound of your purple peacock topper, it must look amazing on the black tree!
And advance Happy Anniversary, twenty years married is very good innings
Awww thank you ! Yes the peacock is fantastic, Iβve had for around 15 years now and it has always been a conversation piece. You collect trees I collect coffee machines πππ
Happy anniversary in advance. May you be blessed to enjoy more wonderful years together.
I will be surrounded by about 70 Christmas trees by the weekend π€£ Part of a team here in Leicester that is organising a charity Christmas Tree Festival. I have my Christmas jumpers washed and ready.
A bit too early for the tree for me but hereβs something Iβm working on. Got to live up to my bhf name π
I keep my artificial Christmas tree up all year long with the lights on each night but then I'm a bit eccentric.
Not quite finished yet sack to go behind Santa and naughty elf to hang off back of plane π there is a plan lol
Don't feel like it this year; just two of us, have never done much but this year son is off to USA for months and a new doctor is trying to stop or drastically reduce my painkiller so I'm in agony.
I hope your medic rethinks that pain relief reduction/stoppage! And I do empathise about not feeling very Christmassy - my son and his family live in the US, the separation is never easy but worse at Christmas. There have been Christmas seasons past when I barely manage to get a wreath on the door.
Some of these pictures are (to quote Craig R-H) Am - az - ing darling! I belong to a Christmas FB page and my goodness there are trees/decorations on there that are unbelievable, some I envy and some not so much. There are a lot of posters from all over the World but some of the American houses are out of this World. It must takes weeks to put them up and take them down. Some houses have every room decorated and while I love Christmas I haven't gone quite that far. However I have added some Christmas scene stickers to the bathroom mirror and added some Christmas candles to the vanity unit.
I am sure with December the 1st being tomorrow, lots more Christmas pictures to follow.
A beautiful array of colour to brighten up the dull nights of winter
December 1st today so hopefully more trees to come
Anymore pictures to add - I think we all need something bright and colourful to fill the pages after the last couple of days.
Village with a little train that goes round
Light up sweet shop
I just love that, my ginger bread house has a glow at night I presume your house does too?
This was without the flash but still quite light. You can see the inside light that only comes on at night. There is a battery in it that is lasting forever! I'm going to have to buy another one next year.
Its very pretty. Where did you get it? I got mine from The Range
I have a few little ornaments in my lounge I'll send. Yes the last few days have been weird. New variants, christmas parties at no.10. Whatever next
I don't know about you but I have seen some hilarious videos posted on FB about the parties at no 10, there is one with Theresa May dancing it is so funny!! There is also one called Now That's what I call a Corona Christmas album. I've decided you have to laugh or you'll cry. We've planned a 90th birthday for my mum on Sunday at her sheltered accommodation so I hope the rules in Wales won't effect that.
I'll look out for them. Apparently something is due to be mentioned here in Wales tomorrow about restrictions. Hopefully you will get to see your mum.
