Fainting whilst seated
I recently fainted while sitting down. I have angina. The GP took this extremely seriously. Is the cause of this because the heart stops for short time?

Could be heart block where you get pauses in heartbeat.
My husband had total heart block and used to pass out while seated and lying down, I have 2nd degree block with pauses but I don't faint, we both had pacemakers fitted.
Yes, my GP told me not to drive. Waiting for cardiology appointment
I have no idea why this happened could be low blood pressure (total guess) no doubt the experts will find out the issue. It must have been very scary though!
I had similar a few years ago but turned out to be sleep apnea. Might be worth discussion with your GP
I had this back in May. My heart kept stopping for 10 seconds every 2-3 minutes. I was given an emergency PM and have not fainted since.
Yes, a pm could well be the answer
Hi, very interested to see your post as my mum has recently fainted whilst seated. She's 83, has AF and suffering anxiety having been burgled. GP has taken faint v seriously and ordered scan & 24hr heart monitor (so hope this doesn't take too long to come through!). She was also incontinent when she fainted. Last time she fainted was 4 years ago and AF diagnosis followed. Hope you get appropriate investigations soon and treatment if necessary. Im in Bristol and we have huge delays at mo. Good luck.
Thanks for your reply. Waiting times not much better in Exeter!
