I caught Covid in January this year (2021). Since then I have ongoing health issues (Long Covid) including tachycardia, high blood pressure and chronic fatigue. Because of this I have recently had a cardiac mri (after already having several ECGs, a holter monitor and echocardiogram) which found I have either had myocarditis at some point post Covid leaving me with mild cardiac fibrosis or the fibrosis is an early cardiomyopathy. I’m looking for others who have had similar experiences for reassurance about what happens next and likely long term effects. I will be seeing cardiology again soon

I too started having heart problems after covid, had a bad attack of AF, then waited months fir a holter monitor, then waited again for an echo and now waiting for results of that. Thoroughly fed up and stressed about waiting for the results which take ages.
My wife developed viral myocarditis with subsequent heart failure. It may or may not be due to Covid. That can’t be proved either way. She has had some recovery but is now stuck on the usual heart failure medications etc.
I’m the same because my myocarditis wasn’t picked up when it was active there’s no way of truly knowing if it was because of the Covid or not. I’m now taking Ivabradine twice a day and a beta blocker Nebivolol once a day and I still have tachycardia and the symptoms associated with it (palpitations/dizziness) especially if I do too much. By too much a few minutes walking or attempting to do housework will do it.
I was diagnosed with covid in December and then HF with a EF of 35-40 on echo in January. After a barrage of tests no damage to my heart and my EF has risen to 56% and now normalised.
The waiting is the hardest part and had some dark times over the last six months. Things do get better and thanks to meds and my cardiologist and HF nurse I’m back at work and living well.
Stick with it listen to all the advice and look after yourself. Things do get better!
