Why have you had so many pacemakers in such a short time ?

I had my first pacemaker fitted last year without any complications so I have not had the same experiences. If you have concerns and your in pain I would suggesting calling the pacing clinic. If no answer due to being the weekend I would give 111 a call

Just for clarification, are you saying you've had 10 pacemakers and all have malfunctioned or you've had 10 in your lifetime and there was problems with the leads with the last one. Why have you needed to have your sturnum cracked 3 times?

If you're in any pain that is not improving then you probably need medical attention.

Yeah av had 10 pacemakers I was referring to the last one had malfunctioned and leads were leaking however I have had simerler issues as a child with one of the prior setups . Twice was when I was a child can't remember the details and the 3rd was a few years ago am presuming there is certain things on the heart that need surgery can only be done this way .got sorted now waiting on freeman to call back with a plan of action thanks

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Unfortunately you have not provided much of a bio or back history. Have you had OHS to affect your sternum!? At what age did you have your first pacemaker? Most pacemakers and ICDs seem to last 5 - 7 years before they need replacement though ICDs can have their batterylife shortened if they need to fire a few times.

Sorry new to this .yes had open heart surgery 3 times but had lots of surgery's concerning my heart via other means too such as keyhole surgery's. I was 1 year old when I got my first pacemaker .like a say I don't have much of a underlying heart beat so my pacemaker paces all the time and I have 3 leads that will be why there shortened . My question was has anyone had this minimal invasive cardiac surgery b4 and felt these symptoms as this is my first time with this method and feel its worse than any surgery I have had b4 in terms of recovery is it normal and will it pass
