Persistent high blood pressure

Doctor upped med from 50 mg too 100 mg losartan 5 weeks ago and sent me for bloods.blood pressure still170/100 in morning.145/90 by evening .result on bloods warning stage serum ceretine got to go for repeat bloods next week.

Your BP figures are very similar to those that I had prior to my HA, though mine tended to go up in the evening. My GP raised my Losartan to 100mg which had little effect and then added other BP medications which raised my BP further! I ended up having a blood clot block my RCA and I had an emergency angiogram and a couple of stents. This improved my metabolic rate so much that I lost 6kg in the week after my HA.

In hindsight, I would probably have benefitted having an angiogram to check my arteries. It might be something worth persuing with your GP. Blood tests showed up nothing of concern in my case.

Incidentally I am still on Losartan at 25mg and my BP is usually 125/75.

I’m on 100mg losartan plus 2.5mg indapamide as the losartan weren’t really doing much. Now I’m also on indapamide my blood pressure is evening out. Maybe ask doctor about the indapamide
