Hello and welcome to the forum!

Bendroflumezide is a type of medication known as a diuretic. It works by reducing the amount of fluid circulating in the body. In addition it can be used to treat Oedema. Because it removes fluid you will tend to urinate more which is why they usually advise you not to take it late in the day.

Did your GP/cardiologist not explain this?

I was put on this a couple of years ago but had to come off of it for this reason.

I am hoping that my GP will switch me to another medicine

My GP did mention it fleetingly, I was not expecting it to be this much, I will probably speak to him about it, perhaps ask for a switch to another medicine
