Signal drop - possible VSD on CT scan- could this be incorrect?

I’ve just had a letter through to attend an urgent echocardiogram after my cardiac CT scan about 3 weeks ago.

On three occasions I experienced chest pain during high intensity exercise hence the initial referral for suspected angina.

The CT scan results letter says there is a “signal dropout in the basal ventricular septum just below the aortic valve” and also “the left ventricle visually looks dilated in end diastole (4.5cm).

I think the echo is to confirm if there is a vsd present.

Could this hypothesis be wrong? and are vsd in adulthood any concern if it is?

What is a signal drop? and is this dangerous. I know about vsd and have listened to my heart sounds and no murmur from what I can hear or it irregularity.

Many thanks 🙏

Lila

Hi don't know why no one has replied, but I would call the BHF helpline and speak to a Professional about your results,
