Post op cabg skin scar widening

I’ve noticed my chest scar widening slightly, CABG 13 weeks ago. Anyone else having similar? Dr “google” says it can just be normal process …

Yup - mine too. Is it keloid scarring? The lower 6cm of mine ( after beginning to heal well) is a lot thicker and wider than the top. Having asked my GP it is apparently not a cause for concern and it still holds together nicely 14 months post-surgery. There are a lot of expensive products available but I just use a bit of hydrocortisone cream if it gets itchy. It bothered me at first but I think it happens to quite a few of us. I hope some other hearties will be along with more wisdom than mine soon.

Same here, post AVR scar 10 months and it is thick and wider, although it healed really nicely and smooth.I am using bio oil, only started it recently but it doesn't really bother me too much. Still quite tender though, I certainly couldn't take a strong push or accidentally hit against it.

Yes normal process but if concerned about it being unsightly speak to your GP. Keloid scarring is very common with these type of incisions.
