Sorry another question from me today.
It feels like the wires in the sternum keep clicking ?.
It's a really strange sensation , almost like a heartbeat with a click.
Is it the wires rubbing together ?
Thanks x

It's not the wires, it's just your rib cage. I had exactly the same thing and went to instant panic mode.
Called the hospital and was calmed down, don't be shy about calling the hospital or your cardiac unit they will put you right.
I am afraid that you will have to get used to it for a while, but it gradually stops.
That's a good indicator of how your recovery is going
And it is a constant reminder that we must not reach up or out.until the strenun has knitted, about 8 to 10 weeks.
I have not had a click for about 12 hours but I know that one will happen before too long.
Thank you so much for your reply . It is really strange how some movement I get nothing then its a clicking with every breath for a minute or so.😀
Good to know that it's normal, but why is the rib cage clicking? Is it to do with breathing in and out?
One of the surgeons explained it. He said 'I have just cut you open fiddled around in your chest for 3 hours and repair your chest with the stainless steel wire, what do you expect of course the clicking. Wire and bone they will take a while to become friends'.
Great surgeon, odd sense of humour and a slightly strange grasp of the English language.
