Yes I am sure it will, stress plus the contrast probably. If it lasts tomorrow as well then mention it to radiographers if you ever need it again. Hope your diagnosis turns out a good one x

Oh that’s annoying. I hope it goes after a good sleep. If you’re not fluid restricted it’s advisable to drink plenty to flush the contrast out.

Yes, definitely need to flush out the contrast. i just had (another!) one on Monday and was told immediately after the process to drink a liter of water before they would give me food/water -- being fasted that was hard so I drank it straight off. On a side note, that was the first coronarography that I've had without gas. It was in hospital rather than my usual heart clinic. They just wheeled me in to the surgery theater, jabbed me with a local anesthetic and got on with out. Ouch! I did ask for a sedative just before when I realized they weren't going to give me gas (nitrous?), but not sure it had time to take effect. These things are always nerve-wracking, especially when you can feel the catheter going up your arm, so I started twitching a bit...

Yes, I used to get a really bad headache after they used contrast. Drinking a lot beforehand and as soon after as allowed, really helped.

I have had both heart and lower body angiograms with contrast. However only the heart ones give me a muggy headache. The difference with the heart one is they often give you a dose of beta blocker (to slow the heart) and a nitrate (to open up the arteries), and these seem to cause the headache!
