Hi everyone - hubby is in a load of medication following a cardiac arrest nearly two years ago - I have posted a couple of times about his reluctance to take however an delighted that he is taking as prescribed. He has though developed horrific thick dry skin on the soles of his feet - never had anything like this before - treated as if it was a random athletes foot but no evidence of infection now ( from my limited knowledge ) but painful thick skin that is peeling slowly. He can barely walk which for a physically fit guy is pretty extreme. Have ordered zinc ointment bandages to see if these help to soften and reduce the inflammation - my long winded question is has anyone experienced these symptoms whilst on heart meds ??
Thanks all you have always been so helpful in the past.

Morning. I cannot see in your earlier posts if your husband's cardiac arrest was related to blocked arteries, an arrhythmia or something else, or what medications he is on. Often people with narrowed/blocked coronary arteries have simar issues at the extremities (known as PAD - Peripheral Arterial Disease). I would get him to see a podiatrist urgently - they will be able to check his pulses and give his feet the once over!
Tried a change of meds and this helped a bit. Best bet is to see a podiatrist and they will sort it or give good advise. Mine contacted my cardiologist and between them got it sort to just a bit more than normal which I treat with a foot soak and scrub and cream to apply afterwards.
