So after a bit of a hairy scary weekend of not being able to get in touch with a GP I've been taken off verapamil & back to BBs ,what a nightmare 🤮

I hope everything settles down for you.I hate anybody messing with my medication, worse still if you can't get in contact with your GP when you need them.

I actually thought I was going to die, tried 111 they didnt call me back ,GP out of hours is only doing palliative care & nursing homes ,so I had to stick it out ,never again!

It was so awful & scary ,no wonder A&E departments are swamped if people cant get help elsewhere ,I'm feeling a lot better this morning thanks 🤗

I'm quite lucky where I am (long itchington NR Leamington) I can spk to my Doc within 2 hours of a phone call near anytime of day, and can normally get a face to face if called in the morning. I know not all Doc's are like this but it questions why eh. Glad you are feeling better.. hopefully the change in meds agrees with you. Also try an app called insight timer, I use it to reduce my constant niggling anxiety that I still get over a year after having my stent fitted. Some of the little sessions helps me relax quite a lot and help takey mind away from it, maybe it could help take you away from what's going on a little too

So glad you got sorted helly it just does not seem easy anymore to get advice even - which is so annoying - this was not always the case I know as it was part of my job so I find it irritating that patients are put at risk in this way for they record things are going to have to change the care system can’t opt out as and when if you decide your going to be part of the health world you have to be 100% dedicated the new doctors I know for a fact are being trained differently so unfortunately they don’t know any different there needs to more empathy let’s hope it starts happening but in the meantime you stay well 😀xx

It's so scary it's got to this point & I was lucky to even get to speak to a GP at my own surgery this morning. Probably part of the reason emergency departments are so busy too . I agree sometimes theres lots of empathy or lots of arrogance & not much else inbetween xx

Hi helly think you hit the nail on the head I spent a lot of my working life asking patients why they had gone to a&e we had to know why they had not been able to get an appointment at the surgery most of the time they just turned up when we pointed out how much it cost the gp practice they were shocked all that said I fully understand why patients are going now they can’t get to see a gp the same it’s just not happening they have to put pressure now on surgeries to start f2f appointments it’s as simple as that otherwise yes a&e departments are going to crash it’s a simple answer to me if all the staff in supermarkets are exposed but they are getting on with it why with PPE are gp’s not seeing patients hope everything settles for you nobody should have to struggle to have access to healthcare take care xx

Hello :-)

So pleased you have got it sorted there is nothing worse than feeling something is wrong and especially I always think at weekends as I would rather speak to my own GP even though I know there is 111 and A&E if needed

I hope this settles down for you now and you feel more relaxed :-) x

Helly75, you are not alone. There are so many of us ill and unable to access a GP which in turn makes anxiety worse. I rang my surgery at 8am yesterday and was told I would get a call back. That call came at 10pm last night !. I too take beta blockers, suffer constant severe back pain and now have a rash. I could not see a doctor ! Where the heck are they all? Disappeared down rabbit holes ? It's ridiculous and desperately needs sorting out for the many poorly people who are just getting worse. God bless x

Hi sunrise, I sometimes think the anxiety is focused on first rather than the symptoms that cause us to become anxious to start with ,I'm still quite unsettled & jumpy but fingers crossed I can settle down a bit ,its frightening not being able to get hold of a GP ,I'm sure theres many of us in the same position x

So glad that you finally got your meds sorted Helly75,we could all be spared a lot of anxiety and distress if it was a little easier to speak to our GP when we desperately need to.Good luck with your meds, hope they suit you better.

Thanks! Such a palava & I knew it was going to happen, I dont deal with med changes well at all . Hopefully I can get back to where I was which was still crap but just less crap 😂

Glad you have things sorted out now. GP situation seems very variable - some practices seem to be functioning as normal while others should hang their heads in shame.

The out of hours situation in my area is actually frightening x
