Blood tests

I have been fast tracked for an appointment with ENT due to not problems that have arisen with swallowing, tablets getting stuck etc. Anyway I need to have bloods done prior to this appointment and as my thyroid blood tests are due I’m getting them done at the same time. The problem is that I usually manage to get an early morning appointment so I just drink water, no food etc but this particular one is at 3.45 in the afternoon and it’s looking as if I can’t change it. Obviously I’m concerned about not getting a good reading, any ideas?

Sorry can you expand on your comment "getting a good reading". Surely the important one is a "true reading"?!

I've never had to fast for a thyroid test. Ask the doctor if it's necessary

No, your GP won’t ask you to fast but there are plenty of references on here as to why it’s better.
