Aches in chest after heart attack

I am 4 weeks post heart attack and experiencing aches in my chest, not painful but wondering if this is normal? Haven't used my gn spray as bit scared to and it's not painful.

It happens when I've been walking but also when resting!

Did you have an angiogram or stents put in. My cardiac nurse told me the aches and pains I had afterwards were due to having an invasive procedure and the stents settling.

Yes I have had one stent and am due for another within next few weeks

Hi there, I actually spoke to my rehab nurse about this exact thing today. I had my episode 6 months ago and am still getting these aches. Not painful but a tad disconcerting. We went through my meds and although I'm on omeprazol she suggested I get some gaviscon as it may be a bit of indigestion (I told her I didn't think it was that). She suggested taking Paracetamol four times a day for the next three days to see if that helps. I couldn't answer how often it happens as it seems inconsistent so I am going to write down each episode and go and have another chat next week.

That's really helpful and perhaps I will do the same. I could only get a telephone call with my gp and he asked if I was sweating or feeling sick, I'm not and he said it's fine.

Not sure I'm happy with that and as there is no pain, I don't want to use the spray. Same as you, it comes and goes.

I know what you mean. There's something about the spray that stopped me from using it, thinking it was only for emergencies. However, as a test I tried it the other day whilst having an aching heart session and it had no effect. Aching slightly now, not long had dinner so am going to keep a note.

I have a great deal of respect for GP's but prefer always to go to my cardiac rehab nurse who has more specialised knowledge. Take care x

Hi Debee. My experience was that I had sensations and twinges for quite some months after. I can’t remember how long it lasted but they gradually wore off. 4 weeks post HA and a stent is really early days. Having a call with your cardio nurse makes a lot of sense. Good luck.
