Hi Sandrann,

Yes, I’ve had a cardiac MRI with sternum wires in place. No problems at all. Worth reminding the clinician doing the MRI on the day that the wires are there, but I had no issues at all.

HiYes I had an MRI about six months after my surgery. I called the ward where i had had the surgery and spoke to a consultant who couldnt tell me exactly what wire it was but said it was not reactive, that an MRI was fine but they didn’t advise it within a month or two after surgery.

I told the MRI operator who said that should be fine … but were more worried about whether my facemask had metal bits in it…!
