Replacement mechanical valve seems to... - British Heart Fou...
Replacement mechanical valve seems to miss a beat every 10 to 30 beats. Is this normal?
Sounds like you have eptopic beats. I had my aortic valve replaced in December 2020 and noticed these, mainly because I can hear the valve clicking. I still get them but they are far less frequent now. If you are concerned then speak to your GP or cardiology rehab team. Anxiety can bring them on as well. Your GP can do an ECG which will detect them but only if they occur during the test. I would get checked out just to be in the safe side. Good luck with your recovery.
HiMy husband had to have a mechanical valve fitted after having open heart surgery for enlarged aorta. He was very aware of out of sync heartbeats. He had Afib and had to have this rectified by shock to the heart under anaesthetic. Following this on a number of occasions he felt his heart was not beating right and went to hospital a few times to get everything checked out. Just getting into hospital and being wired up and in care of experts initself helped him feel better. I would strongly suggest you seek medical advice so that you can pinpoint if there is a problem or at least be reassured. I wish you well and hope you get good advice.
