Results of private Echocardiogram, bouncy septal motion, now I’m very very worried!

Hi guys so I had a follow up private echocardiogram last Friday and I got the results today I shall attach it in the photos. Unless I’m overlooking anything I think the report is good other than it states I have a bouncy septal motion which scares me. My last echo in January done on the NHS stated I had a abnormal septal motion, since then I’ve been on medications had an MRI in May which said I had recovered from left vernacular systolic impairment.

But the bouncy septal motion is still there and hasn’t recovered and I’m scared what this means and what affect it will have on my heart. Reading on Dr Google the most common causes for septal bounce are constructive pericarditis and cardiac tamponade and both of those sound terrible. I’m really worried what is causing my septal bounce and I’m struggling with getting through to my Cardiologist as the last time I spoke to him few weeks ago before this echo he just said everything was ok.

Has anyone got any info on septal bounce has anyone ever had an echo with this before and what does it mean, sorry guys I’m just very worried.

I've never heard of septal bounce before but as you said the rest of your heart function looks pretty normal from the report. If it were an urgent problem I'm sure your private cardiologist would contact you right away. Google can make anyone worried. You could try calling the BHF helpline to see if they have any info while waiting for the cardiologist to catchup with you.

Hi Liam-James. I am not going to try and make sense of your echo report, I’m afraid, we are not qualified to interpret medical results here. But I do see, from your recent postings that you are (very understandably) searching for some understanding of what might be happening so you can move on, and get your life on an even keel.Just two comments, you have had Covid, which I gather can effect people and their organs very differently. Follow up studies are only just beginning to show some patterns. See Zoe studies’ regular reports and updates.

Secondly, you do sound very anxious. Do you have any medics you trust who could collate and summarise these various and confusing findings you have got, and explain it all clearly to you?
