So this is a strange one for me , firstly I haven’t had Covid not been anywhere to get Covid been jabbed twice , so it’s not Covid . Phew ok so that’s out of the way !😂
I seemed to have developed a strange smell , it’s always there no matter what I’m doing and nothing changes it , it smells very sweet like almonds , I can be anywhere doing anything and I smell it , so it’s either in my hooter or something?!? Has anyone else experienced this ? Is it the standard heart attack medication?
It depends what they were looking for. I would ask your GP for a diabetes urine test just to be sure. Having said that, ever since starting meds 5 years ago my taste and smell has changed. I regularly smell things that no one else can: coffee and smoke being the most prevalent. I once was a getting annoyed that no one could smell the flowery smell that was really strong wherever I went, inside or out, until I realised I had washed my hands in jasmine scented handwash and wiped some on my face. It was such a lovely scent and it annoyed me that others weren't enjoying the same 😁
Not necessarily. The bar for diagnosing type 2 diabetes is actually pretty high, there's an argument that we should be alerting people much, much earlier to the fact that they're on a road that leads inexorably to type 2 diabetes. Especially as life style changes have such a great track record of reversing the process, even more so when it's caught early.
If you have had the standard cardiac blood tests I'd recommend looking at your HaB1c scores, and also comparing them with previous scores to see if they're trending upwards.
I’m going to call up the gp surgery on Monday and tell them about this , also think they have put me on the wrong medication, I was supposed to be placed on a duretic (sp) water tablets for af , but they have gave me a supply of anti sickness medication, not sure if that’s the same thing or not so I’ll call up and see about that at the same time xx
This sounds really familiar apart from mines a really sweet taste, I have no sugar in my tea due to my ticker and every time I have one it tastes like it has had sugar put in, no matter what I eat drink or time of day I have a sugary taste in my mouth. I'd say it's been just over 2 weeks it's been like it everyday. And I have had urine sample and the doctor didn't find anything. Maybe something in the air.
