My thoughts are I will continue wearing a mask around other people shops and bars.

Well done you. Very wise and thoughtful! 😀
Can't blame you, so will I!
Me too. But unfortunately not everyone will, and it takes others wearing masks to protect you.
You have to do what's right for you and what you're comfortable with. It's a bit like when you're motorway driving only you can control and be responsible for your actions but be aware you will encounter a twerp! Personally, I'm with you especially on public transport and more populated areas and shops.
Every man/woman for themselves!!
I will follow Prof Chris Whitty's example on mask wearing.
"Prof Whitty highlighted three scenarios where he would continue to wear a mask: in “any situation which is indoors and crowded”; when "required to by any competent authority”; and out of “common courtesy” if “someone else was uncomfortable if I didn't wear a mask”.
Agreed, but unfortunately there are a lot of people who do need the government to tell them how to protect others. Otherwise they woul not have made it mandatory in the first place.
I too will carry on wearing the mask in shops etc. Since I have been wearing one I have not had a cold either. I did test positive over Christmas due to someone not being responsible and cancelling their hair appointment. Grrrr!
