I don't know your health problems or what medications you are on. Nor do I know what your BP is.
You should consult your GP to find the cause of this.
It could be blood sugar, low red blood cells count, dehydration or even heart issues.
At your age you could safely increase your salt intake and drink more liquids to increase blood volume.
Sorry palpman I should of been clearer, my apologies. HA in April 21 , EF of 27% just been put on entresto . Been on usual statins , beta blockers ,water tablets and platelet meds , normally i have low blood pressure without symptoms but not long done it and was 66 over 53 🙄
Hi 0163SLH,
My advice would be to talk to your cardiologist in the morning. Making sure you’re hydrated can help a naturally low BP, but I think it’s likely the meds making your BP that low - it’s their job to make life easier for your heart by slowing everything down. I naturally had low BP & the meds (especially Entresto) made it even lower.
Entresto has 3 strengths, maybe you’re on too high a dose at the moment?
It’s best to let the experts know what’s going on so they can make an informed decision as to how best to treat you.
Best wishes
Thank you ! I am only on the lowest dose at the moment . I'll talk to someone today.
Hi I'm also taking Entresto (49/51mgs middle dose) and have 'naturally' low BP. Entresto has helped heart hugely but dropped BP. Its a balancing act.......low BP makes me feel dizzy and tired but there again so does the HF. I had a long chat with the clinical pharmacist at the GP surgery who helped me move some of the drugs around so that I wasn't taking too many BP lowering drugs at once. She was very very helpful. Means that I pop pills all day long, but experimenting with the timing of the meds was worth it. Won't be able to take Entresto at max dose - sadly. If there is no clinical pharmacist at GP surgery, maybe pharmacist at your local chemist?? But do talk to cardiology/GP first.
You could try becoming a teacher, works well for me! 😂
0163SLH and Frances47. I am having issues with low blood pressure too, I'm on middle dose Entresto in the morning and the high dose at night. I'm also on Digoxin, Nebivolol, Atorvastatin, Spironolactone, Edoxaban and Furosemide. I did get me local pharmacist to check when best to take my meds. Does Entresto need to be 12 hours apart on 2 doses as sometimes my night one can be 11/11.30 and the following morning around 8.30. Thanks for the tip about drinking more water.
Warm water with a pinch or two of salt but after consultation with doctor please will do the trick of raising BP temporarily.
THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE . AMAZING ADVISE AS ALWAYS 🤗
There is a drug called Midodrine which can raise BP. I have low BP and a cardiologist suggested it.You really need to talk to a cardiologist. Most gps are not aware of it
Seriously, I have very low bp as norm. Entresto and furesomide lower it even further and GNT spray causes me to be hospitalised, as a well meaning go found to her cost. It’s a balancing act. I’m told to drink plenty to alleviate it but I’m limited to 1300 mls a day so that isn’t always possible.
Diarrhoea seems to cause it, ( or perhaps it’s the other way round, who knows?).
In really bad cases I lie with my feet elevated until the weakness passes but I have just learned to live with it.
All the best.
Having had a look at the your meds and BP stats and the rather impressive change from hypotension to hypertension, you may want to have your electrolyte levels investigated via phlebotomy (not the home testing kits, please) as changes in magnesium and potassium due to switching medications along with any other lifestyle changes (increased fluid intake, dietary , exercise) could lead to changes in electrolyte levels in your blood which can effect blood pressure quite dramatically. If you have noticed dizziness when moving from sitting to standing (orthostatic hyper/hypotension) then this could be a causative. I hope you feel better soon and get the answers you need all the best!
Thank you ! I will note all these comments down and ask questions. Best wishes
