Candesartan

Has anyone had stomach pain under ribs and bloating since taking candesartan

Good morning. I have had back pain which leaflet says it can cause .Sometimes slightly around ribs which I think is due to candesarten .Also wakes me twice in night to use the loo. Not keen on it.

I was on Ibersartan (same class)for a few years. I was fine in the beginning then I developed severe pain in the upper abdomen, right in the middle just below the rib cage. Initially gp thought it was heartburn and prescribed omeprazole. Pain persisted until I had to go off sick. I then read that some patients on ibersartan can develop pancreatitis. I looked up the symptoms of pancreatitis and informed my gp and stopped taking Ibersartan. Since then I have had no pain. I still get slight heartburn symptoms but not the severe pain. I am now taking Doxazosin, it’s the last one to try as I have tried numerous types but none suited me. I would speak to your doctor and ask to try a different class of bp medicine. All the best.

Thank you this is exactly what has been happening to me my doctor has also given me said acid think they don’t take me seriously as I have health anxiety
