Furosimide AND Spironlactone reduced my swollen legs and thighs to normal. The Furosimide alone did nothing. Ulcers need specialist treatment .I suggest you do not treat them yourself. You may need the help of the vascular dept. of your local hospital .

Hello and welcome to the forum!
Swollen legs can have multiple causes besides heart failure. Issues that affect the circulation include PAD (Peripheral Arterial Disease - more common in smokers including those who have given up and in the presence of diabetes) and varicose veins. If the blood flow is sub optimal it cannot carry away excess fluid easily. The medication sounds right. If there are any ulcers are present I think you should ask to be referred to the local Vascular department for diagnosis and treatment.
I'm sorry I haven't got an answer for you. Have spoken to the pharmacy or your GP? I do get the swelling but only on my left ankle. This goes away when I elevate my leg. Sorry I could not help.
