Bad day.
Morning
How your feeling is perfectly normal, I knew I had to have Aortic valve replaced and bypass one minute very positive and the next scared out of my skin. Can I just say the imagination and those thoughts are much worse than the reality of it.
The angiogram is ok a bit like being on the deck of the space ship Enterprise! Lots of screens and my cardiologist in what my fuzzy mind thought was a space suit. I had had a sedative😂
Best wishes Pauline
Thanks for your reply. I had an angiogram back in 2008 so that part is no problem. I know the surgeons feel that AVR is routine nowadays but it’s the early hours of the day when you are awake and feeling so alone that my mind starts. I’m so pleased that you are well now. Take care.
Hi there , yeah j in get good and bad days ,, for me Tuesday was a great day , yesterday wasn’t good at all even though the sun was shining,, I had a cardiac rehab meeting with a nurse yesterday and she told me this is normal also told me that it could be a way my body is telling me I am doing too much .🤷🏼♀️ Anyway enough about that . On your bad days just take it slow and easy , don’t try and question it or figure out what is wrong. Realise this day and this feeling won’t last forever and you will get through it . Read a book , try out that recipe you want , try some retail therapy. Do something for you and only you . This forum is fantastic and we are all here if you need to vent cry and scream . Hold in there ,, a good day is coming . Much love xx
Thanks for taking the time to reply. It really helps to just let it out sometimes. Take care
I had the good day/bad day period a few years ago. I used to be pleased on the bad days, as i knew tomorrow would be a good day.The waiting for AV treatment is far worse than the event.
Best wishes

Hi,All your feelings are completely normal!!! I had a heart attack 8 weeks ago and was in hospital for 3 days on my own with no visitors allowed due to covid. I was petrified as I did not know what was happening. I was told I had to go for a coronary angiogran the following week and was then discharged, waiting for that day to arrive!!! Once again, I was on my own and scared stiff what they would find!!! As there is a history of heart disease in my family. The staff were amazing and the procedure was explained every step of the way. I has a stent put in as I had a slight narrowing of an artery. The worrying was worse than the procedure for me. Keep strong and try to stay positive. You will be in excellent hands and everything will be explained to you. Take care and good luck
I think this is where my husband is at, he is only starting his heart journey. He has seen me struggle for years without a resolution. He finds it difficult to talk about. Head in the sand technique, but because of his other health problems, he has made amazing changes in diet and exercise. He constantly reading labels. We see cardiologist today for latest test results. Take care. Enjoy every moment.
You can climb a mountain one step at a time. You can do it. All the best.
