Contact your surgery. They should give you a link to your preferred pharmacy, who will deliver if necessary. I keep telling mine I am more than willing to pick my prescription up, but they still deliver! The service should be free.

Which services are available varies depending on where you live and what the local chemists are doing. Round by us, there’s no automated ordering, you always have to request the drugs you want ahead of needing them, either over the phone with the pharmacy you use, or via an app/online to the GP who then send the prescription on to your nominated (chosen) pharmacy. From there, it’s up to the individual pharmacy whether or not they will offer delivery. Some will for a charge, others like Boots have a charge but say it’s free if you’re within a certain group and meet their criteria (elderly, chronically ill or disabled etc.), some don’t deliver regardless. The other option is to use an online pharmacy: you use their website to order the meds, and they then post them to you, but I personally found this doesn’t work too well. It was fine for regular meds, but anything extra if unwell also got sent to them by the GP because they were listed as the nominated pharmacy, meaning you might wait 3 days for something you needed urgently.

We use Echo pharmacy. Very straightforward and effective. Each month you have to confirm the meds you want and they arrive a few days later. Just make sure you do this in good time, especially around bank holidays

My mum uses Pharmacy2u. My daughter in law set it up and it works really well. I do know some local pharmacies will deliver.

I use pharmacy2u as well. Extremely efficient and, now I understand the business model, not only more convenient for the patient but also more cost-effective for the NHS.

my surgery uses an online system called Patient access. My nominated chemist rings me the week before it's due to remind me to order. I go online, order what I need and a week later the chemist delivers it. Ask your surgery.

We use the Coop delivery service. It is very good, you can either order via their website once your account is up and running or order via your GP who will then electronically send order to them. Only takes a few days, delivered by Royal Mail.

My mum's local independent pharmacy are brilliant. She just phones them up every 2 months, tells them what she needs, and they sort it all out with the GP and deliver it (free) about 3 days later.

See if your local pharmacy offers Echo. Lloyds Pharmacy does. echo.co.uk/

I like to walk to my Lloyds pharmacy to collect my meds so don't actually use Echo myself, but I have been offered and I see Bayreuther78 does use it
