Hi. I had a heart attack in 2008 I think the anxiety of a reoccurrence was worse than the reality. Embrace the life changes. Stay active and watch your diet and weight. You survived. Celebrate that. But I’m sure there are lots of people in here that know how you feel. Talk to them. That’s why we are here.

Hello :-)

Sorry to hear you have had two heart attacks I had 3 and waiting for a Bypass as they think that is the better way to go with me but so wished I had never had this happen in the first place but if so I was hoping it would be a stent

They know what they are doing and they will know that is what you needed and would protect your heart

You are going to feel fearful , it is a life changing event and for a while I think so many feel like this

I watch and feel everything now regarding my heart , a little indigestion and I am in a instant panic

I know the fear you feel of what if I have another one but try and think you are now better of than what you were before , you have survived the heart attack you did have you had a stent , no doubt you will be on the right meds so you are quite protected :-)

You have come to the right place to talk where everyone is so kind and understands and I hope it helps and eases your fears :-)

Lot's of members that are more shall we say educated in giving advice will reply as they come on , I am still new with all this but wanted to let you know you are not alone with how you are feeling :-) x

Have you had any talking counselling to help you cope with the anxiety- I use a variety of tools to cope: music, meditation- speaking to friends - try to get help. Xx

That is totally normal. I feel the same way. Honestly talking to my wife about it helps, but at 3 a.m. the doubts definitely creep back in. I have talked to a therapist but tbh their advice == focus on the "good things" == were pretty superficial. Just know that you are NOT alone, millions of people have heart problems every year.

It's understandable that you feel like this, but if you follow the advice on exercise and diet, there is no reason to think you do not have many more years ahead of you. For many people, the shock is the key to a better state of health.
