I had couple stents fitted Sept 2020 , after 1 month I developed a fatigue sympton in arms and legs which I still have 24/7, all blood tests come back clear and cardiologist insists it has nothing to do with medication or stent procedure ; has anyone else had this phenomenon and if so what did they do to rectify as getting me down slightly now, any responce would be appreciated , thanks in advance

You were most probably put on a statin for cholesterol levels, they seem to make life difficult. Everyone reacts to medications differently, so it might be there is a different one you can use. Your Gp should be able to advise you, plus the dosage, at first it's a high dose, obviously they don't want you to have any more stents. I've been on a low dose statin since 2011, but you do need to work on your diet and exercise. With your struggle with heaviness, chair exercises at first might help, any movement better than none. Take care.

I came off all medication on cardiologists say so to prove as he said it was nothing to do with medication for a couple of weeks and as he predicted nothing changed unfortunately

Could you be a bit more specific about this "fatigue" in your arms and legs? Do you just mean you feel weak or is it more of a tingling sensation? I must say I am really surprised that the cardiologist agreed for you to come off all medication for 2 weeks?? As you have found Statins have a bad name but I think this is undeserved, and are definitely recommended in your case and age. Are you exercising at all?

Why do you say Statins make life difficult?

I found I had no quality of life, I was alive, which I was grateful for, but I could barely get out of bed. Lowering the dose and being proactive about my diet and exercise, helped me move more. But I'm one of those who despite having cholesterol 3 and under, still have clots repeatedly. My cardiologists have agreed with lower dose, I would never recommend changing the dose yourself.

I had 2 stents fitted and was taking all the usual cocktail of drugs they give you. I also felt tired and listless and also like you I felt I was alive but had no life. I deduced that the drugs ensure that you do not have another heart attack but they leave you totally fatigued. I read about the high vit C therapy endorsed by Lynas Pauling and decided to give it a go and stop taking the drugs apart from aspirin. 2 years on and I feel more alert and fitter. Recently I started to reduce the vit C as I did not feel the need to continue. I started to have angina in increasing bouts. I quickly upped the dose of vit C to the amount that I had been taking it ( 3 grams per day) and the angina reduced. I shall certainly not try to reduce it again! A warning this may not work for everyone but it worked for me.

I had three stents, 2 in Sept another in Nov. Felt fine until recently when general fatigue set in with all kinds of side effects but put it down to toxicity of meds. Even my head is now fuzzy. Am 73 working two jobs and now struggling because of all meds so feel like chucking them!!!

I had exactly the same problem I stopped taking the statin tablet for a week and the problem disappeared. The hospital then put me on a lower strength statin and had no problem since

Hello there

I have 3 artries blockage and was advised CABG in August last year but i did not.

I am using

CACTUS Q

AND

KRATAEGUS Q

These are homeopathic remedies.

By the grace of God i am much better than before. Kindlt check at your end and share it also so people can get benefits

Kod1, if you are still following this thread, I would advise you to treat some of the replies you have had with extreme caution, if not ignore them altogether. You should not stop taking any medication without consulting your GP. There may be a need to stop or reduce some of them, although it unlikely to be the Statin that is making your arms and legs feel "fatigued", but you should not do this on your own, and certainly not stop altogether or resort to homeopathic remedies. Go and see your GP.

As I said cardiologist suggested coming off meds but to no avail I still have same tiredness fatigue especially in legs to confound matters I could only have telephone consultation with cardiologist due to covid- my next point with cardiologist is sept which will be a year on since fitted but that too is telephone consultation.am waiting on blood test results from own gp relative to vitamins?? Just feel at a loss as to clearing g heavy legs and arms rest of body feels fine and no angina attacks although my feeling is I could control attacks before stents but fatigue I have 24 seven and can do nothing about so far hence posts to see if anyone with same symptoms had any answers. Thanks for input anyhow.

I had a heart attack in March 2019 had subsequent stent fitted and had to monitor and adjust meds for a while to get the correct balance, however the other thing that happened due to the use of iodine when stent etc carried out , my thyroid was affected and became over active and subsequently for a short time under active.Perhaps ask for a thyroid function test difficulties with it, can have the same affect as exhaustion etc

2 years later and i still get exhausted and have periodic days recharging my battery resting in bed.

hope this helps let us know but push for help, pandemic or not

Other suggestion is to go privately with a cardiologist online, just a thought.

Recently did this with my thyroid :)
