Hello to you I have been on bisoprolol for a while now and have had some very lucid dreams [not nightmares] and no heart racing, maybe you should talk to your dr about these side effects, good luck with your journey.

Vivid dreaming is a very common side effect of bisoprolol. Do you take it in the morning ? Just that I had the waking with racing heart and dream several times a night withdrawing from bisoprolol which has gradually settled down, just wondering if your levels getting lower towards morning and you are getting an Adrenalin surge . Bear in mind I am not a doctor I am describing my personal experience of bisoprolol and I know others have had same . Definitely not just you !

I tend not to read the booklets as it give me anxiety if had any of it lol ,, I take it on the night before I go to sleep ,, but I get that it could be my body’s done some weird things starting it but does generally ease just wasn’t sure on nightmares being a side effect ,, I’m so glad it’s not just me experienced this not that I wish it on others as that be bottom of my list to do but glad I’m not alone kinda thing ,, thank you for help means a great deal :) x

100% down to your nightmare, exactly the same thing happened to me twice. When you wake up like that you just need to get yourself a nice cold flannel get it on your head and have a sip of some cold water and just try to relax and let it pass. I have some really wild dreams since I've been taken mine (nearly 3 months) you'll be fine it's nothing to worry about :)

I'm 33 years old, Had a leaky heart valve for 13 years and its finally at the stage where I needed to take the pill, they work really well if I'm honest was scared to take them at first lol.

It's just something that happens now and then honestly don't worry :) especially if you have a warm house or your heatings on over night as if you have a bad dream you get hot and sweaty and if your house is already hot it will increase your heart rate and you will wake up funny.

I try to tire myself out so I have a deep sleep so I don't have such crazy dreams.

Pm's are always open if you need a chat etc :)

Have a good day and don't worry its normal.

Hi, is there a reason why you take it at night? I used to do the same and would wake a couple of hours later in a sweaty panic! I started taking my dose in the morning and started to sleep much better.

Well known to Clinicians that Bisoprolol causes nightmares which diminish as the body becomes used to the medication.. i had visitations from people stood by my bed who disappeared when I closed my eyes and then ooened them again. Weirdest was a Surgeon ior Medic n scrubs with a roll of carpet over his shoulder. Once you know it us Bisoprolol the brain accommodates.
