I think i know the main cause of my anxiety now does anyone in this group know exactly how a PDA is safe after surgery i read up on Google that they stitch the vessel close but it says it can spontaneously close on its on in the first year of life so why wouldnt they just wait for it to close ? I know it could cause problems with the lungs and i dont get that i never had to take meds for it and im 22 now never had any checkups or anything thats kinda weird and now that my anxiety is sky high is just worries me everyday and i cant focus on regular life activities because im scared of a heart attacl but this is whats keeping my anxiety heightened right now , like is it a tube in my chest or stiches still there?? And how are they safe ?? And if they do put stitches on it , what if it closes spontaneously with them in and do they take them out??

Chase, you’re googling stuff and getting information that either you’re not reading correctly or is incorrect and isn’t helping you. They absolutely do wait where it’s appropriate to in the US, with a large number of PDAs being left to close by themselves. They only operate if the hole is big and unlikely to close on it’s own, or if the baby has symptoms due to the PDA, both of which are more common in premature babies. Otherwise, they just monitor to see if it closes, and if it does, that’s the end of it. Even in children that have had surgery for a PDA, they don’t all have to be monitored for life, particularly if there were no other heart problems. I suggested once before that you find out what treatment - if any - you received: have you done that?

So, another new Username registered only two days ago!! Really???

Pointless saying anything to this guy. All he wants is people to agree with him He doesn't listen to any advice from anybody. He's also posted dozens of times on the depression and anxiety forum, asking the same questions!!!

in reply to MDR1

Yes, you're right but it is still NOT right nevertheless! There are too many genuine people on here looking for help. Also, not so genuine, noticed quite a lot recently. It's not actually 'Rocket Science' is it? Thanks anyway.

You are lucky! He appears much more on the mental health sites. I was told by an admin there that because he goes on other sites we need to contact HU ourselves and let them know.

in reply to hypercat54

Pathetic really!!

Oh he is also calling himself Ramekinspoke now too. He currently has 4 live alias's. This is about the 12th one in total he has had.

Yeah and waiting a possible 'Prison Sentence for Ambulance Abuse'. Disgusting in my view!!

Well I don't believe all this calling ambulances lark. No one would be allowed to abuse the system that badly without either being locked up long ago, or in a mental hospital. Also if it was true he would have 100.000's of dollars worth of bills! Not feasible.

in reply to hypercat54

I don't either only if really necessary. I don't know what Country he is in but here in the UK it is a Free Service. Besides that, Ambulance Abuse is Ambulance Abuse end of, or any of the other Medical Services that are abused by a lot of people not just him! Sorry I have absolutely no time for it. So disrespectful!!

I am in the UK but do know it's costs a lot of money for an ambulance in the USA. And all those so called tests. No it doesn't ring true at all.

Reported!

Has anybody not told you that you are posting in the wrong forum? Irrespective of your stated age, I can't see anywhere here any evidence that you have any heart related diagnosis, nor a reason to think why you should be expecting one, other than the fact that you clearly present as someone having an extreme case of " Health Anxiety".I'm not undermining that condition, it's as valid as any other, but suggest you would be better served by addressing your issues and anxieties to more appropriate forums and finding a way to seek professional psychiatric intervention.

Your user name suggests that you are clearly aware of this.

This is a peer to peer support forum for individuals, their carers and families of people with genuine, post, pre and mainly diagnosed heart conditions - believe me when I say, this is a support system that (fortunately for you), it would most likely appear that you don't need right now and let's hope you never do.

You have your own journey to pursue, it's just in a different direction . . . For that I wish you well.

He has been on the mental health sites for ages and goes on about his heart interminably. His latest one is Ramekinspoke - 'Do I need a pacemaker as my heart rate is 47-50?'

Those with HA can't help him either as he refuses to listen to any advice and just posts the same questions over and over again. I have told him that no matter how many alias's he has the answers are still the same.

It's either a wind up or he is beyond the remit of an online site. Either way he doesn't belong on HU.
