Last November my husband, 46 was diagnosed with stable angina. He was referred for a CT scan in January. February he had a call from the hospital to say go straight to hospital for a stent. He had 2 stents put in his main artery to his heart. He gets a small amount of chest discomfort. He is on aspirin, atorvastatin and clopidogrel for 1 year. He is very low in mood. Currently having heart clinic rehab weekly but he is very emotional. How long will the discomfort and low mood last?

Hi.....I had a HA in 2019 and had 4 stents fitted and then a further 7 stents over the last year
With the discomfort it goes in time it’s just the body getting used to the stents with me it took a few months for things to settle down
Has he spoken to he’s GP regarding the low mood? For the last few months I have been finding things a struggle and have been put on antidepressants for my low mood
Thank you for your reply. He has had cardiac rehab tonight and they have told him to monitor for a week if anything triggers off the chest aching. However, we have just been discussing this as he is sat down watching tv and can feel it now. It is difficult as i think if the ache was not their his mood would be better but it is making him constantly think about it all the time. They have offered a referral for councilling which he is going to think about. However, when he talks too much about how he is feeling and his diagnosis it also triggers off the chest aching.
