Hi everyone, I had massive heart attack never 3 wks now I was told I would be going on 8wk rehab but not until June now because of the virus. My question is what can you do for yourself I was told light duties I do some walking in the garden. What can you do going forward.

Hi I was told to walk and started rehab 6 weeks after HA

Walk for 30min a day does not need to be all in one go

I walked to the end of my road and back and went further and faster as my confidence grew.

Thay say you should be slightly out of breath but be able to hold a conversation,

Hi Ruby300. Great advice from others already. In addition I would add to take care of yourself as it is early days for you. Take medications as advised, eat well and rest when needed. Give yourself a little time to come to terms with what has happened, so you can move forward steadily as you begin to feel better. I personally went into denial after my heart attack and 2 stents - not an approach I would recommend! I also found walking with someone initially gave me a bit more confidence. Aww thank you for encouragement I have to say it was a real shock because I love walking I can walk miles but the doc said it is just one of those things it’s early days but I will take my time. Thank you x

Thank you for your words I spoke to rehab nurse yesterday there will be no rehab because of the virus but I will be having phone calls over the next 8 wks I was told to start off ten mins walk try build up to 15 mins. I think for me it’s hard because normally I walk miles I love walking but you have to be wise don’t you. Thank you for your encouragement. x
