Fit healthy 50 year old woman starts running!!

I don’t enjoy running but recently started it again and now up to 4K each time. Just trying to improve my speed at the moment before I increase distance . It is the only thing that gives me comfort knowing that I don’t have any new blockages and that I am fine. I’m a 50 woman who was fit and healthy but had bad genes! Emergency Stent on a 99.9% blockage Oct 19 and then a by pass as it failed, a week before my 50th last year! My husband and kids don’t really know how anxious I feels at times but it seems to reducing my anxiety and I realised yesterday I hasn’t thought about it coming back for a while! Anyone out there that feel similarly or a similar age and understands how I feel.

Brilliant that you are running. Take it gently.Perhaps you could also use some relaxation techniques. They work so well for me.

Hi, 50 seems to be the age when it all happens.....I have found the more I do the better I feel, sitting around is no good,I’ve never ran but it’s something I might start as you said it’s helping you.
