just posting because I haven't posted in a while and I feel a bit low today, been experiencing low blood pressure and I think it's the beta blockers that are causing it but obviously with that I feel really unwell.

was really trying to wean off them after using for nearly 3 months now to keep tachycardia down. so just feeling a bit deflated as I really want some sort of normal life back.

hope everyone else is doing ok today

It is hard when you were hoping to ease down on propanolol, meds often cause other problems. Maybe just focus on your new normal, hard to let go what things used to be like. Take care!

Hi scm21. Sorry you're not feeling too well but, just one little Question here , are you weaning off them of your own accord or through a Doctor's Supervision? If it's the latter, why not see if he can give you an alternative?

hey we jointly decided to wean because I explained how they were making me feel. plus the pericarditis seems to be easing and as the tachycardia is a result of that we would assume that it would too be easing, however I tried half the dosage yesterday morning and by the evening ti was counting down my next dosage and my resting heart rate was high again so now thinking this morning to go back to my normal dose. maybe it's just not time. the doctor dis offer me the option of going onto ivabradine but I read into it and propranolol seems to be the better of two evils...

Hi. I definitely agree that it is the worse of two evils as it is with ALL Tablets! I think you are possibly having some kind of 'Withdrawal Symptoms'. I really don't think that looking up other Medication helps at all but that can only be your decision. I hope you are feeling a little bit better today and just keep contacting your Doctor if you feel you cannot stick things as they are! I'm sure you will be ok though. Good Luck! 😊

Everyone reacts to medications differently, unfortunately I'm on the 3 propranolol and 2 ivabradine a day as well just to stop my heart racing. I take so many meds I wouldn't be able to figure out which one is making me unwell now. I do read reactions a bit but most times not given a choice. Hope you are able to find a middle ground to gain peace of mind. Take care.
