Hi Chase. No, it’s not dangerous, and no, you don’t need a pacemaker. Anything above 50 is considered completely normal, and plenty of people have a resting heart rate lower than 50, particularly if they’re young like you are. Even with someone with a heart condition, they wouldn’t need a pacemaker for a hr of 48. How did you take your pulse? Fingertip monitors are often out - they can easily vary by a solid 5 beats depending on make and model. The most reliable way to take your pulse is to do it manually at the wrist or throat and count the number of beats over 60 seconds. Comparing the two, my own SpO2 monitor often gives me a heart rate 2 or 3 beats lower than my manual count. How’s the search for the anxiety treatment going? Have you done as I suggested and made a formal complaint against the doctors you believe are either incompetent or lying about your health?

Hi,

There is nothing wrong with that heart rate provided it’s when your not active. If it was after a 5K run I would go to the hospital but otherwise that is a good HR and means you’re heart is being over worked.

I often hit mid 30’s while asleep, always have before and after heart problems and my cardiologist said as long as you don’t feel lightheaded or like you will pass out a low heart rate is nothing to worry about.

If you look hard enough you will find problems... even if they are not really there!

Good luck

My resting heart rate is in the low 40s and has been for years. When I was young and fit it was in the 30s. I’ve been told it’s nothing to be concerned about.

Boris, it might be helpful for you to look through Chase’s previous posts. Many are not available anymore because he changes username every few months, however he has been a member here for a couple of years and is quite familiar to some of us. Also, 50 to 100 is accepted as normal in the U.K. by cardiologists in the absence of any arrhythmia or cardiac issues, and below 50 is very often not an issue in the absence of any symptoms of bradycardia.

Another name change.?Your heart is fine as you have been told many times. Did you seek help for your mental health as you were advised previously. You really need to stop making yourself anxious

My HR is 64 at rest but can drop to 45 at night but as it's in a normal sinus rhythm I would not need a pacemaker for this. However now my heart goes into 2.1 heartblock and beats at half of 64 and for me 32 is far too low.

This would require a pacemaker as it could progress to complete heartblock and that is very low at 20 odd bpm.

Your heart rate is just fine and VERY healthy indeed. I have just been for a medical today (triathlon federation) and went to my own cardiologist 3 weeks ago - my resting rate is sometimes as low as 35bpm - my normal resting rate is around 44bpm. Athletes have much lower heart rates and they call it bradycardia. Dare I say your anxiety is getting the better of you? I know, I also suffer from anxiety - and considering we all have dicky tickers to some degree or another that would be perfectly normal - but try not to let it overwhelm you as it will compound the problem and give you worry on top of worry. Perhaps you could ease yourself back into sports of some type? even a brisk walk for 30 minutes a day would give you many benefits: fresh air, you time, and hopefully some semblance of an endorphin rush - which is the happy substance - and can also help your heart :)

Because, as he has claimed himself, after numerous posts all claiming that doctors are ignoring him or lying to him, no one bothers to reply. So he changes his name and continues to post more of the same.Do get help for your anxiety issues Chase!

Thanks Hidden i went to hospital and checked but saud i dont need one and my heart rate today is 65-70ish idk why its was low yesterday

It is indeed severe anxiety. Chase has been here for a long time now. There is method behind my suggestion that he make a complaint: namely, that if he truly believed they were lying, that’s what he would do. The fact that he won’t/hasn’t reinforces the fact that he knows they’re not.
