Newly Diagnosed

Hello Everyone. Newly diagnosed with pericarditis after weeks of recurrent palpitations, fatigue and chest pains. Currently on Ibuprofen and just started colchicine. Palpitations are my major worrying symptoms and keep me up at night. Anyone else going through this?

Basic Kardia (simple but check smartphone compatibility) and a wearable like Apple Watch (expensive but potentially more useful) are cutting edge tools for figuring out the cause of palpitations when periodic tests like ecg and holter don’t help. What was the cause of the pericarditis?

Thanks for your suggestions. Unsure of the cause. Still being investigated

Hi, I have idiopathic, chronic recurrent pericarditis with thickening of the pericardium. I too suffer palpitations as a result of this. I have a reveal link loop recorder inserted in my chest but my cardiologist tells me all my palpitations seem linked to the peri. Discuss the palpitations with your GP and cardiologist and ask them to investigate further.
