Yes you can. If the ECG is taken and the pain has already gone. This happened to me, by the time the paramedics and hospital staff saw me at Christmas the pain had gone and the ECG was fine. I’ve got an iwatch and have caught weird stuff on that when having the pain but haven’t done anything with it as I’m now on meds that are controlling it all. It was blood tests that picked up the anomalies for me. Tropanin levels were raised.

thank you
I had exercise induced angina symptims last year. All my initial tests (ECG, bloods, pressure, chest x-ray) were clear but a CT scan of my heart showed a narrowing of my LAD artery and resulted in a stent being fitted. Keep pushing for tests and good luck....
Hi poet68!
I had normal ECG, chest xray and bloods. I had episodes like you since 2012 with several trips to A&E in the back of an ambulance. I only got diagnosed in June last year with coronary artery spasm following a hard battle with cardiologist to get him to do the angiogram.
I now think I possibly have microvascular angina as symptoms are very similar to that as well but am now struggling to get help with this.
I struggle to do daily household tasks and am frequently woken up in the night with it. I am using my GTN spray frequently.
Dont be put off you just have to be prepared to have to persist. Hopefully you'll get the tests you need and a diagnosis soon.
Good luck and let us know how you get on xx

Yes!
I live with coronary vasospastic angina. I have spasms in my coronary arteries and smaller vessels.
It is difficult to catch a spasm on an ECG. The nurses know me now and will do several ECGs whilst I am having my chest pain.
They can then see the ECG changes due to the lack of blood supply to my heart during a spasm.
In between my ECGs tend just to be normal or show the afterthought of T wave depressions because of the Ischaemia- lack of blood.
I hope you don't have to wait too long for your further tests.
Yes. I had pain in the back and chest walking. Normal ECG, but GP referred me to the heart clinic to rule out angina. A CT scan showed some narrowing. I was given an angiogram and I'm now the owner of three stents. I would never have believed anyone who told me I'd have a heart problem this time last year. The angiogram before and after pictures were an eye opener and I am thankful for my vigilant GP.
