Covid Vaccination Scam

Hi All,

just to advise i recieved an e-mail yesterday offering me the chance to book up for a Covid Vaccinaton Test.

First off, i right clicked on the senders e-mail address, it was NOT from the NHS - the NHS does NOT have a generic e-mail address!

Secondly, i right clicked on the link - which took me to some spurioisly named web site.

For most of us on here, fairly sure we know the web address for a our surgery or hospital, if it doesnt match any of those - then chances are it is a scam.

If in doubt - ring your GP - better to be safe than out of pocket or personal details stolen for fraudulent activties.

Doing OK thanks - now starting to understand AF - but so dislike the R Soles who take advantage of peoples misery to make money. Hope you are well also.

Not to bad thanks, we are in Scotland so have had quite a bit of snow, so haven’t been able to get any walking in. John’s ok gets very down with his stroke but it sort of hits him every now and then that his life is different then it use to be. Think I have said before when they were telling me about what the stroke had done apart from his left side it had taken some of his sight, and I sort of thought that’s ok we can cope with that but the sight as been the worse thing.Glad your doing well, take good care.

Ooh, loss of sight - not sure i'd be keen on that. Think i'll be grateful for my loss of taste etc. I have enjoyed photography since '86 - so sight would be a big issue for me i think. On that note, envious of you with the snow - all photographers love some snow to point a camera at 👍 I know its debillatating for normal life and not grate to live with - but it does look good when freshly laid. My thoughts go with you and your husband - extremely difficult times - but i believe we will win through and adapt to ur new lives.

It’s been 4 years since my op and then John’s stroke, mist days we find something to laugh about, just sometimes he wants to do something and is unable and he gets really frustrated. He loved to read but he misses the first couple of words at the beginning of the line and as to start again, trying to make sense of what as been written.Snows gone at the moment very frosty this morning. Have a granddaughter who is doing photography at A level she lives on the south coast and keeps saying how much she would love to be here taking some photos. Says her portfolio would look good with some snowy views.

Daughters portfolio would look amazing with some snowy scenes - and oddly enough, snow is really hard to photograph - it fools the cameras sensors and often needs human input to correct. I used to live in Brighton, and when it snowed i would travel up to the South Downs to a part called Devils Dyke - pictures you could get there were just astounding. I wish your granddaughter well - they learn so much more about the art of taking pictures nowadays, especailly with digital.

They live in Poole in Dorset, so have some stunning scenery somewhat different to mine but very beautiful. She had a new camera for Christmas ( non digital) and very into that now, lots of black and white shots. Having to work with her tutor over zoom but think she is doing ok.

Oh Poole is gorgeous - my wifes son lived down that way and we would often pop down to visist. So on top of the Jurrasic Coast as well. As for working with film - i do miss those days, but i've adpated to using digital processing techniques and also not a fan of all the chemicals used in developing film and creating prints (thats my environmental ra ra over with). As for zoom and focal length, that's a science all in itself. It took me 34 years to learn what i have, and i'm still learning 😆

Try audible books - my son has very bad dyslexia and he finds them to be a help. I used to walk a lot in the mountains in summer and winter, go snow and ice climbing and generally wander here, there and everywhere, and have happy memories of climbing on tower ridge, observatory ridge and point 5 gully on Ben Nevis.

I was so busy I didn't take a single photograph....

Thank you for the suggestion, it’s a great idea we have got audio books on his kindle which really helps. He used to love to read his daily newspaper stating at the back with the sports pages working to the front doing the crossword on the way, think it’s the feel of the paper and turning the page.We have some amazing scenery here, we are very lucky.

Try Audible.co.uk - I think they do audible newspapers on a monthly subscription basis. I believe they do free offers every month as well.

And this is the sort of thing that makes a forum great - the help and support from others - it's amazing what you can learn on a forum

👍

With regards to audio books, I have trouble sleeping and thought they might help. Not really sure they do but helps with the monotony of just lying there. I found the online library audio books are free and you can hire 5 at a time along with standard paper books. Best wishes.

Hi

I received an email today but cannot work out if it is genuine or not so I haven't clicked on the link.

The email address is webmaster@ nhs.uk

I tried the right click on the address and it comes up as the above with NHS_ before the above and the right click ion the link does nothing.

Don't know what to do

I received one of those emails today. Very realistic . Didn’t click on anything but rang my surgery and they said they would ring me and to ignore any other form of communication. It may differ in other areas I would ring your surgery explain you ve had the email and ask them what’s what . I was suspicious because not in right age group but then they’re being very efficient around here

in reply to linnielizzie

The e-mail should be from your local GP or NHS Trust. I would check with your surgery before clicking on any links...

I don't think you get offered a chance to book - I am sure they send you an appointment and ask you to change it if it's not convenient. NHS Grampian have said they will be making appointments over the phone and have advertised the number to inform folks that it's not a scam and to please answer it.

HI Janma123, You should get a letter asking you to book an appointment either on line or by phone, the web site and phone number are on the letter, it's a simple procedure. Take care and keep safe.Ruth
