I've wondered about this too. Used to take collagen supplements regularly till my heart attack September 2020 and my daughter said I'd better stop. Took them for my hair and skin. By the way I had two stents fitted as well .

I asked my Cardiac Consultant when I wanted to take some skin, hair and nail supplements, and was told they were ok.Can you check with your Consultant or Cardiac people?

Best way I think.

Collagen is the main component that forms the basis of the body's connective tissue: muscles, tendons, ligaments, skin, cartilage, joints, etc. This is one of the main components responsible for the level of strength and elasticity of the entire connective tissue. In addition, collagen supports the cells and is responsible for the elasticity of the walls of blood vessels and the heart. I buy myself Rocket Man Naturals rocketmannaturals.com to improve blood circulation to maintain healthy skin. I will not say that the effect is lightning fast, but it helps to retain moisture and smooth out wrinkles quite well.

There is some evidence that collagen can help improve vessel elasticity which is a good thing for arteries as these become less elastic as we age - as with everything. I’m not sure why they wouldn’t be ok.

That's a question for your doctor. I'm afraid no one on here can give medical advice.

Thanks and I'll do the same

Hi Vonnie233. If I'm ever unsure about any of the Tablets or Vitamins etc. I always check with my Pharmacist. Sometimes it is far better seeing that the Doctors are always so busy. Mine is absolutely excellent. Sometimes, he will say it's best to refer back to Doctor/Cardiologist but they will give you excellent advice nevertheless!
